Sunflowers!

Sunflowers!

Junior and Senior Infants planted sunflower seeds in the classroom in pots and when the roots were visible, we planted them into one of the raised flower beds where they will grow into beautiful colourful sunflowers! Sunflowers are self-seeding so we will be lucky enough to see them re-appear each year! Paddy and Christy helped us transfer our sunflowers from the pots into the compost in the flowerbed. We all had turns planting our own sunflower.

We linked our planting sunflowers to our Art work where we learned about Van Gogh and created our own sunflowers using cotton buds, tapioca and toilet roll inserts.

Senior Infants also wrote instructions on how to plant sunflowers!
