5th and 6th Work for School Closure
Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all getting on well at home, completing a few chores, getting some daily exercise and completing some school work!!!
Last week we posted up some work for you to complete. I am enclosing a little extra work now that you have your books at home. Complete as much of this suggested work as you can.
Maths: I would ask both 5th and 6th class to complete their daily mental maths activities and I have also posted some extra maths work too. Revision of Time for 5th class and revision of Percentages, Decimals and Fractions for 6th class. Please use your maths example copy and your maths books for reference if needed.
English: We had prepared Unit 10b from Starlight but hadn’t completed any of the written work. I would like you to answer sections A,B,C,D and E (pgs. 119 – 120) Please use your dictionary if you are unsure of the meanings of any of the words.
Irish: Continue with your script writing and look back over the relevant chapters in the book to help you with phrases and vocabulary.
Geography: Continue with your project on China. Unit 19 in your geography book will help you with this. You will also get valuable information from your atlas and the Internet. (design and make a Chinese fan is optional)
6th class: We will continue with our preparation for Confirmation. I would like you to read pages 15, 16 and 17 from your Confirmation book and complete page 18 – All about your Baptism.
Reading: Please continue with Read at Home and Leigh sa Bhaile. I encourage you to continue reading library books, newspaper articles, recipes!! Oxford Reading Tree have some ebooks available to read for free. Pick a book and read a few pages every night.
Finally, anyone who has been working on the optional History project. I want to wish you all the best of luck as the date for submission of the projects is fast
approaching.
Hope you and all your family are fine,
Take care,
Carmel Thorpe.
